A little more work needed to get all 6 State refunds done. OK having to do both Internet and Desktop. I would have preferred to use one or the other. Missed the info where the online informed me it could only do 5.
Otherwise very easy to use.
What's great about it: Able to do 6 State refunds
What's not so great: Limit to number of State Refunds can do through the internet
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Harder to Use Than Previous Versions
on March 30, 2016

Seems like each year Turbo Tax is getting harder and harder to use. It used to walk you through every step and now it stops at every menu and lets/makes you select the next item, even when you selected to do the walk through. It used to ask more direct questions to help now some of the directions and questions are more open ended and leave you scratching your head. To me it is really moving away from its simplicity. Being Software Analyst myself I help design programs for easy of use and simplicity for a novice. Turbo Tax is moving away from simplicity. I think they need to go back about 4 or 5 years and review how those versions worked and take some ques from it. It was much more user friendly.
What's great about it: Still Cheaper Than Paying someone to do it for you.
What's not so great: Doesnt flow like it used to

2015 REVIEW
on March 30, 2016

The software by and large is excellent and does a great job.
There are two problems I have encountered this year. One is relating to updating. When I try to update, I am told to wait for the installer. I eventually have to cancel. I can only successfully update after I reboot my computer.
The other problem is a long-standing bug which, fortunately, I remember to check for. The federal module does not pick up the prior year tax credits from the NY return; thus, the state income tax deduction is incorrect, erring on the side of too much.
What's great about it: EASY TO WORK WITH
What's not so great: SOME PROBLEMS WITH UPDATING; A BUG IN NY PACKAGE

The best of a long series of software by Intuit.
What's great about it: Superb arrangement of questions and date input.
What's not so great: It is imperative to read the instructions carefully. If not, you can get into difficulties quickly.

Easy Peasy!

I have done my taxes by hand since I 1970. Last year I paid an accountant a lot of money to do my taxes for me. This year I decided to use TurboTax. I am delighted, relieved, less stressed and more confident than I have ever been that my tax returns are accurate. I will never do my taxes manually again! Thanks TurboTax!
What's great about it: Using Turbotax to walk me through step by step made tax time less stressful!
What's not so great: Turbotax asked for information on a nonexistent S Corp., but I figured out a work around.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

It would be nice if there was a build in playground that a person could work with different scenarios for the following year to get an idea what the following year might look something like. Eg: How Retirement and Social Security might effect it.
What's great about it: Complete Process
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
