Love Turbo Tax

The program accurately transferred my investments from last year but would not allow me to edit each investment. Instead, when I clicked on edit for a particular investment it wanted me to enter a new investment. In the end, that is what I had to do . Took at lot of extra time.
What's great about it: Comprehensive
What's not so great: I did have a problem this year while entering dividend information.

Efficient

Like Turbo Tax copying information from previous year and from federal to state. Like being able to go back and forth within sections (e.g., income, deductions, etc.) and between sections. Like being able to work on files, close them, and come back to them a different day. Being able to e-file is very convenient.
What's great about it: Copying information from previous year. Copying info. from federal to state returns. Being able to go back and forth.

Phew! Taxes Done!

I've been using TurboTax for several years. Makes life so much easier. Sure, you still have to gather all your info together from the year, but Turbo Tax makes the whole process simpler. That's Deductible is especially helpful when it comes to processing all your contributions to charity. It carries everything over from last year's taxes, and that also helps a great deal. Will continue to use Turbo Tax and recommend to all friends and family.

There are a lot of questions but TT wants to make sure that you receive all the information in order to get a refund. If you do get a refund, use your credit card to pay for e-filing. The information about Intuit doing it for you was not clear and sounded like you would pay more for them to submit payment for you to file.

I have used turbo tax for many years. I really don't like having to pay to file the state tax return. other than that it is a good program and I would recommend it to anyone.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: time consuming and charging for state returns
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I wasn't sure if purchase price of stock was to be reported at per share cost or total cost. Had to call a friend for help on that. Would help if you could clarify that in the directions.

What's not so great: Sale of stock original price cost
