Rock Solid as Always

I've been using TurboTax for at least 10 years. It is very easy to use. You can choose to enter data directly onto tax forms, or have it walk you through the process by asking you simple questions, e.g. Do you have a mortgage? Do you have dividends or capital gains from investments? etc. It's easy to navigate using menu drop downs or tabs which delimit each step of the process. You can quit at any time, go back and forth through the process whenever you want -- it doesn't get lost. It checks and double checks everything. It recommends filing status, and tells you if you need to fill out special forms or not, based on the questions it asks.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Walks you through everything. Makes filing complex taxes involving capital gains, AMT, etc. very easy.
What's not so great: None.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Forms available in Deluxe on-line version

I have used TurboTax for about ten years. I find that it is getting less and less intuitive to navigate the web site. For example - to get to the instructions for filing state taxes by US mail, you must select Federal tax filing and elect not to efile, then you get access to the instructions for filing the state taxes vie US mail. This makes no sense.
I am currently dissatisfied with TurboTax to the extent that I will look for an alternative application for my axes next year.

What's not so great: Many forms not available with on line Deluxe version, yet they are available when you purchase the disc version.

Would be nice to have context for some questions. For example, certain deductions have a threshold. This should be made clear rather than asking the user to assembly and enter all information and then say "sorry, you do not qualify" - a waste of time if the user already knows that the threshold is too high for the case.
What's great about it: Mostly OK
What's not so great: Some questions are out of order or useless

Tax Suprise

When TurboTax looks to a previous return to see which 1099's were submitted, if there are multiple 1099's from the same source, it is not always easy to match those to the forms received for the current year.
Also, TurboTax did not give me the opportunity to adjust my expected income for the next year or to adjust my expected tax payments for the next year. It just printed our my quarterly payment vouchers at the higher amount when I would rather have more tax taken out of my income when I receive it.
What's great about it: ease of entry
What's not so great: if multiple 1099s from same source, difficult to tell which is which

ps- you almost fooled me with that page about paying to file state taxes electronically. maybe next year ill have a black return instead of red and be able to afford your favors.
What's great about it: Late in game addition of forgotton forms? a piece of cake
What's not so great: took me a minute to find the "Import" feature from the "file your taxes" last chance page

Confident of Correct Return

TurboTax always takes you through the quagmire that is tax filing with simple directions and readily accessible tax help. I have been using this program for about fifteen years now, and it has made my tax filing infinitely simpler and far less frustrating.
What's great about it: Step-by-step process with explanations and help readily available
