I've used TurboTax for years and I'll continue to use it. You can follow their guidelines or skip through sections if you're comfortable enough to input your info manually
What's great about it: easy to follow

Your program asked a question about Dividends after 2011 on Arizona State tax . No explanation was given. I am not sure I did this correct. You need to put an explanation in the program. Remember we are not tax experts.
What's great about it: liked the federal
What's not so great: did not like the Arizona State and found the payment window was too small

As usual, TURBOTAX was easy to understand, easy to use, and produced excellent results. I've been doing my own taxes all of my life. This program saved me from having to continue to do it by hand. I recommend this program for anyone who can read and has an understanding of how the entries effect your taxes. Anyone who has a simple 1040 to fill out, is wasting their money going to a professional preparer. This is pretty easy.

I walked through the steps a couple of weeks ago and found I owed apx. $1200. This morning I reviewed and another set of steps came up, sales tax, which did not come up on the first go around and reduced my tax by about $700. Which is right? Also went to check on how much taxes I paid, wanted to check my entries, and it would not let me in to check what I did. I have used Turbo tax for many years but this year was the worst. The taxes are so complex. Very frustrated.
What's not so great: seemed to come up with other items not entered in first go around

I have been using Turbo Tax for a number of years and don't remember the filing precess to be so complicated. Trying to get back from the print screens is cumbersome and getting the pin is confusing. I probably made a mistake and will get it bounced back, which won't make me happy.
What's great about it: The step by step process works well for me.
What's not so great: Trying to follow the filing process is too complicated. Getting back from the "print your return screen "is not good.

We are two retired persons and would like to see a clean link for filing SAA-1099. We do not receive W-2's and the program is focused for employed person. On the central menu we like to see an option for retired filers.
What's great about it: Once I found the retired filing track all went well
What's not so great: Printing my return has a lot of "Stuff" I don't want or need
