Mysterious State Witholding

I detected a mysterious entry in my state return within the"withholdings not reported on W-2, 1099 etc." Auto review did not catch the entry. I found the problem only by manually investigating an unexplained difference in the comparison between years. Software did not detect the problem and made it very difficult to find the offending entry. Thank goodness I took it upon myself to check by hand.
What's great about it: Brings personal data forward from prior year
What's not so great: Hard to check entries when unusual difference between years is noted.

Quick and Easy

The first time I used Turbo Tax, I took the printed return to a tax expert (retired IRS person) and had it checked. He found it in perfect order. I was very happy with that news and have since used Turbo Tax every year. I love it!
What's great about it: TurboTas guidance is so easy to follow and entered data is quickly analyzed.
What's not so great: No complaints

I have used your program for many years. I find it to be easy to use and time used to complete has been reduced. By hand, it took me days. Now only three hours!!!

Beware of Double Medical Deduction

This is the second year I was tripped up until I did a manual review of my return. If you have an ACA plan and you get a form 1095-A, DO NOT ENTER MEDICAL INSURANCE PREMIUMS in the step-by-step process for medical deductions! If you do this and then enter your 1095-A, you will mistakenly double your premium deduction! There should be big letters in bold on the page that asks for your medical premium expenses telling you not to enter the premiums if you got a 1095-A Form. I can't even imagine how many people miss this and end up with higher deductions than they were supposed to have.
What's great about it: Love Turbo Tax. Been using it for over 25 years
What's not so great: Entry of Medical Premiums if you have ACA are confusing

Easy step by step instructions. All I did was answer the questions. Turbo Tax kept track of all my answers & filed all the necessary IRS forms.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

made tax life easier

Turbo Tax took a 1 week job and narrowed it down to 4 hrs! It was great importing tax information from brokers and then Turbo automatically placing it where it belonged thus saving me time and aggravation! This is my7th year of Turbo tax use and each year it gets better and easier. I'll use nothing else!!
What's great about it: inputed all info from last year and automatically put info where it belonged without having to enter twice
What's not so great: a couple areas were confusing
Pros: I bought or sold investments

every previous years charitable entry I 'edit'ed created a new entry at the end of the list. then I had to delete all of the old entries
What's great about it: good transition from section to section
What's not so great: charitable deduction area needs work
