Easy to use - don't over think

As long as you don't forget to start a final return from scratch after setting up an estimated one and forgetting to delete all of your # entries.
What's great about it: Easy to follow entries

TurboTax

TurboTax asked for a taxable amount. My form said "Unknown". There was not an option for Unknown last year or this year on Turbotax download, and the Q&A said to leave it blank. So I left it blank last year, but called Turbotax this year to find out if it was actually taxable. The form I was using was apparently different from her form and when I restarted, I got the option for Unknown. Now I have to go back and fix last years and pay thousands in taxes, in addition to this year. Not really happy. And it is very difficult to get ahold of a real turbotax person, though she was very nice when she helped me.
What's great about it: The help line, when I finally got someone was very helpful.
What's not so great: Messed up my taxes from last year and was about to do the same this year, until I found a real person to talk to.

Seemed easier & quicker than passed years.

Very reliable source for completing tax returns, we've using Turbo Tax software for 10+ years.
What's great about it: Transfer and reference from previous years data to this years forms.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Overall Acceptable

TurboTax was easy to use and generally did the job. I had two difficulties. The Federal review at the end indicated that two forms involving foreign residence were incorrect. We did not have any foreign residence and did not need these forms. For the Maryland state return there is an addition to income for tax-free government securities not attributable to Maryland. TurboTax did not pick up this entry, and I had to add the correct input using the Forms view.
What's great about it: Was user friendly and generally was thorough.
What's not so great: Mistake on Maryland State form and added unecesary Federal forms

I am a CPA, and have used Turbo-Tax for years. Just because we passed an exam once upon a time, it doesn't mean that we do taxes for a living, and keeping up with all the changes is a mammoth undertaking.
I appreciate that Turbo-Tax does that for me. Thank you for keeping up to date with all the law changes, and making the number crunching effortless.
Turbo-Tax, you are a Godsend!
What's great about it: I love the organization and number crunching!
What's not so great: Can't think of any.
