Why didn't I use this sooner?!

I had always done my taxes on paper, by myself every year. This past year I purchased a home and couldn't use the ez form anymore and wasn't going to tackle it alone. TurboTax was so easy to use, I wish I would have used it sooner!
What's great about it: Very simple and explained everything in easy to understand terminology

The programs does its normal excellent job of helping me to my taxes myself.
What's great about it: Does the job giving you two options to do your return
What's not so great: Could give more tax law information.

Financial Import

Importing of 1099 form data from financial institutions was very easy and quick. A very big help in insuring proper data entry.

EASY with HELP, ALWAYS

I had a problem finding out what to do with a personal problem that is not a usual situation. I had to determine if an insurance loss was a deductible item. I called help hotline and they answered my question. They were there on a sunday night. WOW. Thanks for making my Sunday extremely good.
I am one that will never go back to live help when I can learn and understand my taxes without someone not caring as they have to do as many returns as possible to get their goals met. My goal is met when I do it myself on my time.
What's great about it: ONCE YOUVE DONE IT YOU WONT GO BACK
What's not so great: SCARY AT FIRST

Ease of Use

It was a great experience, even with my wife and I filing in two different states. I wish I could have filed everything through one filing, but I understand our situation was a little complicated too. Kudos and 5 stars to the Turbo Tax people that helped us over the phone (on weekends too).
What's great about it: Examples are great
What's not so great: Difficult to File two separate states from the Federal return

i found it more difficult to use this year than in previous years too many questions that were not explained better regarding types of income etc.
I felt that perhaps my software was not working correctly some of the time as it would hang up on calculating and i would have to log out and login again to get it to work. Not happy with it this year!

Rental with extra state

Difficult considering facts and circumstances beyond normal. Too much need for extras.

What's not so great: upgrade recommended and cost for 2nd state

Apple pie, ice cream and turbo tax

I have used Turbo Tax for 20+ years, and I am still amazed at how simple the format is. I use the format that allows me to choose what to work on because I have become very familiar with the product. I like the little "helps" along the way. Looking forward to next year!
