Easy to Use

Turbo Tax is, for the most part, very easy to use and understand. I only had difficulty with the section on rolling over my 401k. The program asked me if it was rolled into a Roth 401k or a Roth IRA (no to both). It never asked if the rollover was to a traditional IRA. I assume that, since I answered no on the Roth questions, the system then assumed that the rollover was to a traditional IRA, but it never confirmed that assumption. Then it appeared to count the 401k withdrawal as (non-taxable) income, which confused me. Did this "income" put me in a different tax bracket?

What's great about it: Love the ability to import last year's return and this year's forms.
What's not so great: Section on 401k rollovers could be clearer.

TurboTax for Single Filers

As a single filer, the software took me through many steps that were unnecessary. It would be nice if the questions could be asked on the front end to avoid many steps in the middle and towards the end.
What's great about it: received my max refund
What's not so great: too complicated for a simple EZ filer
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Good product

The software updates are slow and requires a reboot by my PC before it works, before the update completes. The problem is that Turbo Tax won't allow me to finish filing w/o completing the update. I think this should be made simpler and updates should be consolidated to make them less frequent. Plus what could be updated in Mar, only a month before taxes are due and why is that required for me to file?
What's great about it: Ease of use, layout, free fed e filing
What's not so great: frequent software updates

I only do my returns and the returns for my blind step daughter who lives in a different state. It is getting costly too costly to do them on Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Choice of following turbo tax or entering data on my own

nothing but trouble this year

I have never had so much trouble with Turbo Tax. I will use something else next year. It stalled several times in the process of making calculations. The first time I lost all info and had to start over.
It would not let me delete a form I no longer need for a business I no longer have.
I now want to print just my State tax form but am having trouble doing that. I have used Turbo Tax for years and never had a problem before.

What's great about it: downloads info from previous year
What's not so great: stalled in the process of calculations. I had to do a forced shut down and lost all info the first time.
