Great as always!

Been using it since 2006. It brings in the data from last year and makes it easy to edit for this year. Couldn't be simpler. Gives you a lot of confidence that the returns are accurate and complete and you will get your refunds quickly without any hassle from the feds or state. To be fair, my income and deductions are very normal and simple.
What's great about it: Intuitive
What's not so great: None

Errors galore!
on March 27, 2016
Posted by: Disgruntleuser
This year was the worst experience with TurboTax (both Person and Corporate) for the 15 years we've been using it.
Apparently all of our kids live in Siberia all year because TT asked how long they lived with someone else, said none, and the forms later said they lived with someone else for the whole year.
Sales tax vs. state and local income tax deduction was vey hard to understand and had to fake it out to make the numbers right.

Other than these things and tons of other errors, its a great program (LOL)
What's great about it: got a refund
What's not so great: Not confident it's error free

Turbotax on Mac is still Good
on March 27, 2016
Posted by: fishwest
Turbotax still works for me on the Mac. It was still easy to install and I did not experience any problems using it. I have been user on Mac for last 10 years and on PC before then. I still wish Turbotax would be more straight forward on how to file state taxes by postal mail versus efile. It seems you still have to know the tricks to get it right.
What's great about it: Easy to install, worked as indicated
What's not so great: Somewhat tricky if you want to postal mail state return and get all the right documents

Great Product - Rely on it
on March 27, 2016

Great Product. Thanks again for another year. I have used since the 1990s and it is a outstanding product. Keep up the great work.
Import from last year perfect.
Ability to stop and start where you left off great
Error Checking super
I wish I could recommend a significant improvement but I just don't have one.
Thanks
Dashing
What's great about it: Multi approaches - ie Step by Step or let me choose
What's not so great: Handling of multi entries for schedule K-1 items in block 1, 2, and 3 is not straight forward and amaturish
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

some good , some very bad

You MUST solve the problem of the rolling circles. I finally realized that I had to restart my mac in order to continue. Once I got rolling, it was easy to do both federal and state returns, but I was interrupted many times with this problem!
What's great about it: generally very easy to use
What's not so great: the awful rolling circles which wasted more of my time than performing the whole operation.

Help is relevant and direct; no pension split
on March 27, 2016
Posted by: Geoff8197
My 14th year of using TurboTax, and the interface continues to improve, especially the in-context Help. Found answers to questions in the first attempt, and the definitive wording left no doubt that I found exactly what I needed to know.
Was surprised that there were no walk-throughs or automatic calculations for splitting pension income (1099-R) between two states. I moved to a new state early last year and didn't anticipate that each state wanted to know how much of the pension was "earned" while residing there. Ethical objections about taxing a military death benefit aside, I was left to deduce what each state wanted and why. I made estimates by dividing the total benefit by the number of months spent in each state. That approach should work OK, but a walk-through that does the split calculations would eliminate any misgivings about making a costly mistake.
What's great about it: In-context Help is more direct, easy to use, relevant
What's not so great: Pension income - split between states not supported
Pros: I moved
