What's great about it: Easy to follow instructions
What's not so great: Felt it was misleading that even though I could prepare state return for free, I had to pay extra to efile it.

Easy & Thorough

As in the past, the program is quick, thorough, and easy. While some improvements have been made, there is still some questions like it still asks for a FL State Return even though it explains that one is only needed under certain conditions.
What's great about it: Quick, thorough
What's not so great: Still some confusion

I've been doing my own taxes for 30 years. The program continues to improve. The guided route is less "cute" and more helpful. The help function pulls up relevant an helpful information. The import from quicken, It's deductible and previous returns greatly streamlines the process.
What's great about it: Very straight forward...

This seems to be the best version yet. I have filed my kids returns for the past 6 years using Turbo Tax and this really was the easiest yet. Great product, seems like you would really have to try hard to make a mistake
When going through all deduction categories it would be better if it didn't keep going back to the beginning so that you had to scroll through to get the "next" category
What's great about it: easiest year ever for completing and filing returns
What's not so great: it still seems a bit unclear that you pay Intuit and that allows you to file the return.

CD and online cannot connect
on March 27, 2016

I bought the CD though I have done it online in the past. Try to sign in through the program and keeps telling me the log in info is wrong even though I have my browser open and logged into the site at the same time. Pain in the neck.
What's great about it: easy walk though steps
What's not so great: Can't transfer CD to online account

Mostly satisfied in McLean

Overall, Turbotax was worth the time and money for me. While my tax situation is relatively straightforward, I have a diversified portfolio, which means lots of individual entries. The import feature reduces the data entry considerably, but is not perfect. First, it apparently can not import from institutions that use 2 part verification (e.g. password plus know device), even though they are listed in the pulldown menu. So I had to enter info from one account manually. Second, they do not provide an easy way to evaluate what the import imported. Since the imported info is often distributed across several IRS forms, one is left guessing whether it got everything and whether it was all correct. My last complaint is that even though I paid to buy TurboTax, the software makes several attempts to extract more money. It also requests and confirms (i.e. "are you sure") additional irrelevant personal information, presumably for marketing purposes.
What's great about it: Imports from previous year and financial institutions, performs calculatoins
What's not so great: attempts at upselling, minor GUI bugs
Pros: I bought or sold investments
