Use of Turbo Tax

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years. I love the software. It is easy to follow and I love the fact that it does a check at the end to make sure you will not be audited!
What's great about it: Easy to follow step by step directions

Payment frustration

Although a little slow to load and open, everything worked fine until I went to pay my state filing fee with a credit card. Then I was directed to a log in screen and it wouldn't recognize my login. Had to call and answer the automated questions, then wait to connect to a live person and answer the same questions over again. Then, rather than help to log in, I was directed to set up a new account, reentering my billing info (which you already have).

I have used TT many times for myself and my adult kids. It is very efficient and provides good record keeping and comparisons to prior years.
What's great about it: Interview Process. Comparisons to prior years Returns to help review for completeness.
What's not so great: AMT questions too confusing

The latest software up date has issues that need to get resolved.
What's great about it: Step by step walk through of all tax areas.
What's not so great: 2016 software has issues. It locks up regularly and even locked up my Mac.

Mostly easy to file a return.

We had to refigure some deductions because when asked for medical expenses we totaled the amounts and "continued" but then the next window asked for information that we already calculated (X-Rays and vision). We had to do this twice. It would be nice if it were posted more clearly what expenses were needed at that stage and what was going to be asked next.
What's great about it: I like that it walks you through the various required step to file.
What's not so great: The medical expenses deductions part is confusing.
