Easy to use year after year

As a TurboTax user for many years, I am always impressed by the ease of transferring prior year information. Every year the process seems to get easier.

Complicated

The software when I got to my state return basically said my state doesn't deduct what Federal deducts this year, and for me to manually key in the difference...the software did not take me through all the steps to determine what the difference should be. Very UN-user friendly!!
What's great about it: Takes you through all the topics step by step
What's not so great: State deduction differences from Federal not explained well

Had a VERY DIFFICULT time downloading 2015 deluxe turbotax to Windows 10. Some questions were VERY confusing. Maybe I will not use TurboTax next year!!!

Very simple and complete for Mom's final taxes

After years in a professional business with rentals, K-1's, and 50 page returns from a good CPA, our retired life is very straight-forward and perfect for Turbo-tax. Got a big credit for geothermal conversion and the forms spit right out. The 1099's from our retirement system were by the book and the carry-over of capital losses came right through on a Schedule D. Did NOT have to upgrade to Premium just because we had those few residual investment issues, Deluxe handles them just fine.
Also used it to file my late Mother's final return which seemed to go just fine. The special form 1039 for a survivor filing was also available on Deluxe. It kept badgering me to e-file hers but I couldn't get the right Pin and if felt smarter to print and sign the 1039 with real ink. Will continue to use TT in the future
What's great about it: Complete, comprehensive, no-brainer to follow
What's not so great: More "up-selling" than necessary for a modest Return

I've used TurboTax for many years and this is the easiest version to use yet. I would recommend to anyone that plans on doing their own taxes.

Straight forward

Have used Turbo tax for the past several years. This year it seemed to go quicker. However explanations aren't always clear.
