Very good

I have used Turbo Tax for years because it is easy to use and provides accurate and complete tax returns. I did not give Turbo Tax five stars because I hate to pay a fee for filing a state return electronically. Other tax programs provide this service and I believe Turbo Tax would do the same and not risk losing customers. The fee may not be a big expense to some people. but to others who might be "just hanging on" financially it does make a difference.

really buggy this year

been using turbo tax for years without problems, but this year the version was really buggy. Kept getting stuck and had to force quit multiple times. Had to redo sections more than once due to this issue.
What's great about it: simple
What's not so great: the deluxe version this year was really buggy

Could be better

Bring back to old version with updates. Was not as detailed as it used to be. I feel like I lost refunds because I was not able to provide more detailed information about my hsa, because the questions were not asked. Also the cost of e file is extremely high.
What's great about it: Better than last year however not as good as it used to be.
What's not so great: Difficult to go back and change mistakes. Not as detailed as it once was.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Why would you use anything else?

I am married, own a home, don't have a business and have "vanilla" deductions ( nothing exotic ). If you have all your paperwork, you should be able to complete the form in less than two hours, assuming that you quadruple check all your entries. If you don't have your paperwork TurboTax will tell you what you need. It really is that simple.
What's great about it: Intuitive, Easy to follow, Covers EVERYTHING, Gives the user the option to triple, quadruple check all their work.
What's not so great: Haven't found one yet.
