very disappointed this year..State return not included and very expensive to load and then efile. will be using some one else in the future

Turbo Tax

I have used this software for the past 5 years now and I have no complaints about it, except for this year's updater! In order to file your taxes you must update the software. Every time I tried it would just hang? I finally did a goggle search and found the updated file could be downloaded and installed. After doing that, it asked to check for updates and guess what? It still hung?? But I was able to close out the window and continue my e-file.
other than that I really like it.
What's great about it: simple to use and easy step by step instructions
What's not so great: Updater would hang every time I tried to update!!

Deceased filer

After filing a return for my deceased mother in law it came to the what was the AGI for last lear or the new number. Iadded the agi of over 4000 and sent it. it was rejected. I sent it again, rejected.
then I tried to get the new filing code. It never gave me the code. Now, today after being rejected several times I went back to getting the filing number. This time I was told to add a zero to last years AGI. I just sent it again and we will see what heroines, If a ZERO is what is needed for a deceased filing agi , TurboTax should be able to tell you that. Thank you Make it easy on other filiers.

What's great about it: Easy till I tried to electronic file
What's not so great: electronic file rejected 2-3 times

I've used TurboTax pretty much since it came out many years ago. I have always found it the best way to legally pay only the taxes that I was expected to, regardless of what the circumstance - child support, owning a business, or working in another state from residence.
I always like the "guide me" process and the questions it asks to ensure that all necessary data is imputed. Great job on the product, will use you again next year.

have used turbo tax forever

I have used Turbo Tax since the 90's after totally being disappointed by "professional" tax preparers. I found it to be easy to use...as long as you "paint my the numbers" correctly.
The key is to always when your done to wait as least a day, then do back to the beginning and go through it one more time ( cut once- measure twice rule )

What's great about it: I enjoying not having to deal with a tax person..CPA
What's not so great: takes time..you must be organized

The program is easy to use the only disadvantage is when you have an important question there is no one you call right away and get an answer.
What's great about it: Like have the year before info on the new return
What's not so great: didn't like not being able to talk with a person when I ran into problems
Pros: I bought or sold investments
