Painless Tax returns

We have been using TurboTax for several years and feel confident it is doing a great job on both sides of the tax return. Really like the fact we can save a .pdf of the return for future reference.
What's great about it: Guides you through the steps.
What's not so great: Sometimes asks things I don't know but that's not always bad.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Less user friendly then previous tax years.

2015 TTax much more difficult to follow then previous years, esp regarding itemized deductions and no explanation as to why standard deduction was best option. Took much more time then previous years to complete. Also, 1099 SA form we received did not compare with items on Turbo tax.

This was the first year I imported my W2. Always entered info before because I could never remember my username or password for the payroll service my company used before. Didn't have to use any of that this year, just my SSN and pay for the year.
What's great about it: quick and easy

What's great about it: Everything. I've been using Turbo Tax now for more than 20 years and it has never failed me. An excellent product
What's not so great: Can't think of any

Not Turbo Tax's Best Year

As in years past TT walks you through the process pretty seamlessly and eventually your taxes get done.
When using the "hold my hand mode" this years version hides almost everything from view, so you are never quite sure if you answered all the questions or not.
Also it keeps jumping back to the main screen and the buttons say "review" so it looks like you have to do them again. Shouldn't the buttons say finished/edit when the step is complete?

Better Experience then HR Block

I have used HR Block software for 8 years. It was common that the state of WI software was not available until February. I always thought WI was to blame. Last year my daughter switched to Turbo Tax and was able to do her taxes in January while I waited till February. That suggests the problem was with HR Block. I switched this year and found the software very friendly to use. With HR Block, each year saved on the computer required that years HR software saved as well. To early to tell, but I sense that Turbo saves the forms as a PDF and therefore is recovered much easier.
What's great about it: Easy to understand. Easy to follow what, where, & Why.
What's not so great: None

Sliced through the hassles.

Doing my returns on Turbo Tax makes it so easy. Previous years information just brought in, nothing to search for.
What's great about it: Took me half an hour for fed and state.
What's not so great: I didn't pay in enough to get a bigger return
