Getting harder to use

This maybe last year I use turbotax seems to begin harder to use with less refunds or none at all.

to decide whether to use the more expensive TurboTax vs. H&R Block.

What's not so great: too expensive, should not be required to pay for state filing...

Vermont has some weird property tax forms that need to be filled out each year and it's called a tax adjustment.
What's great about it: Fast
What's not so great: State taxes are fast but info on some items are vague

Easy to use

I have used TT for over 20 years and it is a good program. It successfully carries over all the depreciation and other rental property essentials.
This was the first year I have received a letter from VA about missing documentation on my VA return regarding foreign taxes paid.

Importing information went smoothly.
For self-employed the steps were not as clearly laid out.
Upon finishing the preparation, I was not guided to what to do with refund coming (refund in mail, apply towards 2016 tax). I need to use Form 1040 ES but wasn't offered that form or option in anticipation of 2016.
What's great about it: Questions were clearly laid out and steps given
What's not so great: hard to find forms

My husband and I have been using TurboTax to complete and file our taxes, my in-laws' taxes and my parents' taxes for over 7 years. There are so many different questions and circumstances that 3 couples might need to report on, but TT handles them all. From qualified pension plans, to capital gains, to residency in several states, etc., all details of filing are dealt with precisely, and with supportive documentation.
What's great about it: Easy to fill in your info from start to finish.
What's not so great: You never know when you should or should not insert $0.00, meaning no dollars to report.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
