I never had to used Turbotax until last year. It is so much easier and I can sit in my own home and do it and use one CD for my parent and my kids. It save us about $1000 dollars paying someone to prepare my tax.
What's great about it: save money and time
What's not so great: no complained

Program is great and used it for years. This year had an issue with an endless loop of telling me I had to update but it would not download an update. Found lots of posts from several years where this issue had been noted Finally found the manual download link and that worked perfectly. Seems this is a recurring problem and could be fixed...

I had a life change of a divorce in January 2015. Many changes for the tax year. Did not need to have to finagle the software to make it able to submit my return! Many changes as I took items to Good Will and had health deductions this year.
Once I did the manually update, the return went thru. I may not need the Turbo tax paid version next year so will see if the software still remembers all my answers or will I have to enter everything manually.

Big change in finances!!
What's great about it: kept information from last year

Good for filing paper for the first time!!

Overall I enjoyed TurboTax over spending hundreds on a tax professional. We've used one for years and now we have the confidence to venture outside of our comfort zone. I truly believe anyone with sound reasoning skills can use TurboTax to file their taxes.
I struggled with the "State Refund from the previous year as income" (because we chose to itemize). There was a lot of information I had to track down, and it didn't even matter anyway since the previous year return was less than the "Grocery Credit". I feel more explanation should have been given or don't make people fill out all that information from the previous year's tax return for nothing.
There should also be a question added to the charitable contributions section for housing exchange students.
What's great about it: Very user friendly.
What's not so great: Need more clarity for how to file charitable contributions. Need explanation of why you don't need to send certain stuff

I have used Turbo Tax since it first appeared and have used it every year since. Turbo Tax keeps getting clearer and better each year. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK !!
