Simply the best!

I have been using TurboTax for 3-4 years. Prior to TT, I used a different commercial product. That product was good, but "clunky" and a little disjointed at times. TurboTax is incredibly easy to use, especially after the first year of use. You don't have to be a finance or accounting person do do your own taxes, especially with a software such as this.
What's great about it: Ease of Use, Automatic Upload Features (prior year returns and personal data, W-2 if available, etc.), Guided Steps

Finally got through

the software must have a glitch. keeps asking for info on Sch K-1 when there is none. calculation got stuck several times and went on for more than 30min.
In general, I had a better feeling in other years using the same software. I am not sure if I feel as confident this year.

Very Slow

Turbo Tax is OK, but the speed with which it works is terrible. It takes forever to calculate, most times, no change to the tax is even done. It calculates too often, it just seems remarkablt clumsy.

Terminology sometimes is not the same as that used by IRS, eg the lumping of exemptions and deductions under deductions rather than using two different categories.
Also if you have to go back and change a dollar amount because of an entry error the program sometimes wipes out some or all of the answers to follow up questions about the entry. Then you have to go thru all the questions when you just wanted to fix a typo.
What's great about it: easy. picks up all info from prior year
What's not so great: some terminology is confusing; fixing entry errors is harder than it should be

Overall did a great job of downloading 1099s and W2s which saved a lot of time
What's great about it: Did a good job of guiding me through
What's not so great: When I needed to enter state where I got tax free income all I got was a review error and no instructions on how to fix

I have been using TurboTax for over 15 years and have found it to be very reliable. I especially like the way it retains my balance on my nondeductible IRA contributions from previous years.
