GREAT TAX SOFTWARE

I have been using turbo tax for several years now and so far no problems with the IRS. LOVE IT!!!!
What's great about it: NOT NEED TO BE A TAX EXPERT TO FILE TAXES WITH TURBOTAX

Change and update sytem

In the final filing to send out e-file it asks for state and zip code, My 1099R reflects my foreign address for the country I live in. But for some reason your system want a US state and zip code to do e-file which I do not have. I have had this trouble before and have been able to file any way, but for some reason I was not able to e-file this year. There should be away to work around this when a person lives in a foreign country.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: need to update system for filing from a foreign country

A good product

Overall a good product. I am not an accountant, which makes some of the questions hard to understand. I know the tax code is a mess, but maybe you could simplify or better explain some of the questions.
I got a bill for $1,100 from the 2013 federal return and don't understand why. I just had to pay it.

What's great about it: Do it yourself, runs well on PC
What's not so great: Some questions aren't clear. Easy to make a mistake.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Surprised with the payment

This is a great product with detailed explanations with just about everything someone can think of, however I was disappointed when I needed to pay for the e-file for the state return. I paid to buy the deluxe turbo tax thinking it would already come with free e-filing since I did have to pay a high price for it. The wording of the product stated "1 State product via download" making me think it at least came with one free e-file. I would recommend clarifying that there is NO free state e-filing for the product to not confuse customers like me. That way if someone doesn't want to pay such a price they won't have to waste time to return the product and seek other options.
What's great about it: Gave detailed information about credits.
What's not so great: Charged to e-file state return.

Ok Product

In an attempt to make the process more simplistic to use, it made it more time consuming that in previous years to use. I wish there were three options instead of 2:
1)Simple version
2)Traditional version
3)manually complete forms

Also I really believe there should be a version that comes with a free fed and state e-file rather than having to manually go in and pay for state e-file.
What's great about it: Still a relatively easy software to use
What's not so great: the charge for state e-file, 1 free state e-file should be included

Time well spent

I have used this program for over 5 years and find Turbo Tax best method of getting through taxes. I did find the "check" very helpful as I did make a few errors that were caught prior to sending off my return. Not having to find the forms that I might use while completing my return, not worrying about writing down the wrong tax amount for my income, and not having to determine the percentage for deductions actually makes doing the taxes extremely bearable. Watching the little box at the top of the program change from Federal Tax due to Federal Tax return.
What's great about it: Walks through all areas for return
What's not so great: issues with state income tax

Refund, Refund, Re-Fun

This is excellent tax preparation software that is very user friendly and inexpensive. I wish the thousands of people that are being ripped off by the Fast Tax Preparers of the world would discover this gem.
What's great about it: Easy to use, excellent assistance, inexpensive and produce results.
What's not so great: The software should be marketed more so that everyday people can save money on tax preparation.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
