So-so software

The software stated it would "get to that later" for deductions related to my 1099 misc form. It never did "get back to it" so I had to go searching for the form to enter the expenses related to the 1099 misc form.
I hate it when I hit "forms" button, the entire user interface goes away for 10-15 seconds. The first time it happened I thought I'd been knocked out of the program. Some form of message should be presented to let the user know to wait for the forms to show up.
What's great about it: no pros over other software
What's not so great: I had to go searching for forms on my own

Turbo Tax 2015 - Done Dirt Cheap

This is the tenth year we've prepared our taxes with Turbo Tax. The software is set up to guide the taxpayer through all sections of their tax preparation. Very thorough and professional. No details left out. Clearly explains what to do and details are provided, as desired, as to why...
We file jointly and since the first year, we have had complete confidence in TurboTax that our tax forms and data are accurate and that we're getting the maximum refund possible, that we are due. I used to do ALL my taxes on my own, and it was painful at times when we had more complicated tax years. Just to check out TurboTax the first time we used it...I compared my own tax preparation with TurboTaxes software and found I had missed some deductions that TTax correctly found...From that tax year on...we've been using TTax...with confidence and efficiency. We especially like "ItsDeductible"...We donate alot of clothing and outerware every year..and have always had a drawn out process of evaluating the clothing on a comparative sales basis. ItsDeductible does this all quickly abnd efficiently and with confidence that the evaluations are accurate and justified. We are lifetime Turbo Tax customers.

What's not so great: Nice to have 1 State eFiling for free as well as Federal..

I like the way the program works. I have used it for around 10 years. Last year to do just dividend I had to buy upgraded program so I used a different program.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: when calculating it would just keep working had to shut down and start again this happened 2 or 3 times.

Nice to do my taxes at my own pace and learn about them too! With out being Charged crazy amounts and never getting my hard earned money back for paying them for something I can do myself with simplicity. If you can read and follow directions . You can do this !
What's great about it: not like going to one of those other guys
