Never Enough
on March 20, 2016
Posted by: TrickyNick1
A little frustration when 2014 didn't import. Otherwise, I endured the experience as always. It was good. I do have concerns with collecting so much personal information. It's bad enough with everyone wanting to know everything. Not sure what it gains Turbo Tax or IRS to have a drivers license number plus the additional info surrounding it. The more provided, the greater chance it can be accidentally get into the wrong hands. Every systems claims they are secure. I say never are there 100% guarantees. Someone could be monitoring this message.
What's great about it: helpful information if needed
What's not so great: could not import 2014 into 2015 - never had the problems in prior years

So Simple
on March 20, 2016

I have used Turbo Tax for at least 10 years now. It is so easy to follow that it only takes me an hour at the most to complete (it depends on interruptions). It is also far cheaper than if I had my attorney do my taxes.
What's great about it: Easy to follow

This customer did not provide a text review.
What's great about it: I just answered simple questions.
What's not so great: The program would not take my credit card information at the end of the filing.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

annoying in a stressfull time, but recoverable
What's great about it: works
What's not so great: froze several times
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Makes Taxes Less Taxing
on March 21, 2016

Turbo Tax Guides you through filing your taxes from beginning to the end. You answer questions about your tax status at the start and with that information it sets up the correct forms you would need to complete. Turbo Tax can even import some W-2s which saves a lot of time. It also contains " Learn More" areas for each question in case you do not understand or know if that area pertains to your situation. Needless to say, you can do this on your own and do not need to pay a professional.
What's great about it: Guides you through all tax scenarios with ease.
What's not so great: Between the program and the fees for transmitting it can be a little pricey.

Easier than I thought

My friends have been telling me about Turbo Tax for years and I was always too nervous to try it. This year the tax company I normally used raised their price again and I needed an alternative. I decided to give this a try. I really liked how it walks you through each step. It was still a little nerve racking, not having a person to consult with. At the end it did check everything and said it looked good and I submitted everything. Overall I am pleased with Turbo Tax so far.
What's great about it: Step by step
What's not so great: No professional in front of you to explain things
Pros: I moved

Thousands of US Citizens Live Abroad Ignored
on March 21, 2016
Posted by: OZBBB
Turbo tax recognizes that US Citizens live outside the US, but still refuses to accept that they own telephones.
This phone format: (XXX) XXX-XXXX is NOT universally recognized.
In fact, Turbo Tax, though finally recognizing that your Foreign Address does not have a 5 digit "zip code", cannot accept that you have a foreign phone number to go with it.
Don't get me started on "Foreign" credit cards. You know, the ones that go with your Foreign Address? They're not accepted either!!
The IRS mandates that US Citizens, WORLDWIDE, must file
a US TAX RETURN. So just make sure you have a domestic credit card and a domestic phone number because they do not
accept foreign credit cards and foreign phone numbers.
I complain about this every year and I never receive a straight answer about why they can't figure this out.
What's great about it: Better than Last Year
What's not so great: Foreign Phone Number STILL IGNORED
