Overall it was a good experience. i've used turbotax for years and this is the first year where the software hung up on several occasions when it was supposed to be calculating something on a screen.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: software got hung up on several screens

It's complicated

Because of my personal tax features, I can never e-file my federal or state taxes. It would be nice to get a real rebate or price reduction because of that. The format of the software assumes I have a business when I first enter a 1099-MISC, but I don't. They are royalties from gas leases. It would be easier if there were a simpler drop-down list of where I am.
What's great about it: thorough
What's not so great: Misdirects 1099-MISC
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Fairly painless.

I did finally look up and understand that due to both wife and I are now over 65 yrs we have increased claims. This is why it departs from the 2014 return.
What's great about it: Like the auto update of carry over capital losses.
What's not so great: Got confused why 1040 line 39a was different from Standard Claim

I've used for years. Tedious when entering multiple W2G's.
What's great about it: Easy to use & accurate. Helps to find deductions
What's not so great: Would help to have a copy feature for W2G's

Just the best Tax Helper, have used for many years, this is the first year I have owed taxes for those same many, guess retiring is not the best thing to do:):)

Not always as easy as you think

Turbo Tax makes most of the process easy but its not easy to delete a form once you started it. Also it would be good to be able to print a list of the Charitable contributions you have in Turbo Tax to use as a template for compiling the current years donations.
What's great about it: Transfer of info among forms make completion easy. Also gives assurance that you have not missed some transfer.
What's not so great: Starting a form and not needing it causes difficulty to delete it.
