Updating always hung my computer up

Without the updating- I had to take the return to H&R Block for a second look to make sure nothing was incorrect. Not sure about what I will do next year.
What's great about it: easy with the auto populate and uploading capability
What's not so great: updating would not work and hard to get an answer
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

TurboTax makes is both effective and simple to use

I am a retired CPA, and although I was not a tax accountant, I know the process well. It can remove the need for outside assistance for 95% of individual filers. Not great for CPA's, but great for consumers.
What's great about it: Cuts hours from the tedious hand prepared process..
What's not so great: None

Easy Experience

This is the 10th year I've used Turbo Tax to file my taxes, and it gets easier every year. The one issue I had this year was my hard drive with all my prior year's filings crashed, so I lost those and had to reinput all my personal information. It would have been helpful if Turbo Tax had stored those online (although I guess I do appreciate the privacy) for my future retrieval.
What's great about it: step by step guidance
What's not so great: none that I know of

I ran into a bug in Turbo Tax related to form 2106 where a value that I entered for Other Reimbursements was not properly saved when I would save my return. This means I had to re-enter this data every time I re-opened my tax file. Very frustrating.
What's great about it: Easily imports data from previous years
What's not so great: Bug in the program

I did my returns in record time with the guidance of this software.
What's great about it: Almost fun to do your taxes with this software
What's not so great: I put a zero in a box for Movie Industry credit and it wouldn't let me e-file. Took it out and all was well.

Another Year Easy Peasy

If I could change one thing with Turbo Tax it would be a simple way to back up when doing the final reviews. I got stuck on one this year and had to go back to a previous save.
Rules of the road save often :)
With that said, Turbo Tax provides great insight, and makes doing taxes as painless (at least as painless as it can be) I like having control of my own vs. taking it to someone to rely on them to make the right choices for me.
I even had a friend who is a professional filer look over my Turbo Tax return one year and he said he would not have done anything differently.
I had an accountant review two years ago and his answer was the same. So for the small fee of Turbo Tax you get a professional filer (you and the guided inputs) and an Accountant to file for you.
What's great about it: Utilizing TurboTax to do your Federal and State is fast and simple, it even brings data forward
What's not so great: Sometimes it hard to backup in the review and correct process

I handle tax issues 40 hours a week. The last thing I want to do when I get home, is more taxes. I have relied on Turbo Tax for years to do my family's tax returns. Thank you Turbo Tax!!
