Quick and Easy

I am a multiple year Turbo Tax user and it seems easier and quicker every year. Only spent a little over 2 1/2 hours and e-filed!

health care questions

Turbo tax has been my go to product for filing taxes for the last 4 years. This is the first time I would rate less than 100%. I almost filed incorrectly based on an answer to the heatlhcare coverage. Question: did you not have coverage because it was unaffordable? I answered yes, based on my definition of affordability. This resulted in turbo tax indicating that no penalty was incurred, while in fact I should have and did incur the penalty for lack of coverage. Affordability is based on irs definition and calculation. I think this could have been clearer. Hope others do not make same error. Till next year.
What's great about it: will calculate correctly providing you answer based on tax definitions
What's not so great: health care question a bit unclear

Screwed up software

I've used Turbotax for several years now . This year's experience will make me consider twice before choosing it again. Software locked up twice and both times when I exited I lost all data! This sucks. what should have taken 2 hrs. at the most took almost five hrs.
What's great about it: nothing

It Works!

I like that it does all the long calculations for you and determines what percentages are taxable or not.
What's great about it: Walks through entry of line items. Does complex calcs for you.
What's not so great: some terms not real clear, eg What is "qualified" ?
