Allows Me to Do My Return with Confidence

I use EasyStep to be sure I don't forget something, but I really like being able to see the appropriate form at the bottom of the page or to go to forms any time I want to without losing my place in EasyStep. This year the order of building the return in EasyStep did not follow the logical order of the return and I found this to be worrisome.
What's great about it: Multiple options of how you enter the return, Allows you to see form while in EasyStep.
What's not so great: EasyStep jumped around not following the logical order of the return.

Life Simplifier

I don't know what degree of tax complexity Turbo Tax can handle effectively, but in the 11 years that I've been doing my family's tax returns, Turbo Tax came through for all of our particular challenges.
What's great about it: 1. Hold by the hand type of guidance, 2. Explanatory windows
What's not so great: Based on income declarations, T/T should automaticaly advise a user whether or not qualified for an IRA contribution
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Needs improvements

When I return to TurboTax the initial window thinks I am starting a new return. Doesn't have the immediate option of "Continue." Going to the menu bar does address the issue.
Also, there are numerous times when it isn't clear what choice to invoke. It is hit and miss.
One summary page splits a number between lines when the number is at the end of the line.
What's great about it: Overall fairly good
What's not so great: Significant issues that need improvement

Removes Drudgery From All the Detail of Tax Return

Everything went well collecting, verifying, and submitting my return; however I had made one typing error. The IRS caught it, and rejected it. Turbo immediately notified me, walked me through recovery, and 10 minutes later I resubmitted my return.
They also promised me they would continue to help again if necessary.
What more could one ask.

What's great about it: Extremely well organized right down to hitting the last key to submit returns.
What's not so great: Can't think of any.

Delux no State File Included

I was asked to pay for the state tax filing after I am done with Federal and move on to State. It is surprise. It costs too much to pay for the upgrade to have state file. I didn't use it. I suppose that it will charge again when e-filing.

After many years using TurboTax, I'm frustrated and will look for a better app next year, Unless, of course, we get a flat tax and can do away with this burdensome tax system.. And you won't accept a comment without a four letter nickname? Good grief, folks!
What's great about it: Thorough
What's not so great: Way too many steps from one item to the next and back

Too much trouble navigating. Also almost impossible to e-file State return due to complex Intuit pay procedure. Will probably switch to competitor next year..
