Worked Great

Made filing a return with foreign earned income very easy.

Better than Block

Last year (2014 taxes) we were advised to use H&R Block software since TurboTax (the software we had previously used) was said not to contain all the forms we would need. Did that. This year (2015 taxes), we muddled through the H&R Block software again. After fighting it all the way, we decided to incur the additional expense and purchased TurboTax software in addition. We went through the whole process again--much faster and much easier to use; and input the data we needed. We will continue to use TurboTax unless something drastic happens to change the interview process or overall functionality.
What's great about it: Interview process very inclusive and inituitive

Everything worked!

I've always liked TT but have had technical issues with my Mac when it got to filing each year. The forum advice never helped and I had to give away my firstborn to get a phone number to call, sit on hold for an hour to get a tech to help me. This year I had no issues. Everything was smooth.

Still Happy After All These Years

I've used TurboTax for over 10 years now. The only section I think could be improved is the one for stock sales. I don't think we should have to "upgrade" for basic stock sales.
What's great about it: Thorough and fairly easy to use
What's not so great: Price starting to become a deciding point

Uncle Sam must be smiling

Turbo Tax software is extremely user-friendly. Easy to follow and understand. It's even better in subsequent years; it carries over your tax info (including your charity recipients) from the previous year. Up until 6 years ago, I did my returns myself (did so for over 30 years) ... I've always been a mathematics and numbers person, my federal and state returns would take me about 6 to 7 hours to complete ... with Turbo Tax, the first year, it took me about 3 1/2 hours ... since then 2 hours, maybe 2 1/2. Can't fight technology ... or great software ... Turbo Tax is the best way to do your own tax returns. Now, if it could only guarantee a refund!!
What's great about it: Simple, Straightforward
What's not so great: No Complaints

Still Confusing Areas

I entered my mortgage interest in the business home office section and then was asked again in the deductions section. This was never explained and i didn't want to have a double entry.
Believe it or not the biggest complaint was when I pressed the "print return for mailing" it opened a window to either save a pdf or review. No place to press print. After cancelling that a "print" button came up and when I pressed it the same window opened. As of this moment I haven't figured out how to print my return.
What's great about it: Covers everything needed. Quick and easy.
What's not so great: There are areas where it is difficult to know what to do.

Fantastic Program

I have been using TurboTax Deluxe ever since it was first introduced. I use it to do my personal taxes (which also includes a rent house) and It has never steered me wrong. Additionally, the part of the program that determines the worth of items donated to charity is a lifesaver. I highly recommend TurboTax--everyone should be using it.
What's great about it: Quick, Easy, Comprehensive
