Overall my experience with TT has been favorable. I have found it to be an excellent interaction tool for those of us who are "new-borns" to the self preparation process. However, the snag I ran into was with its' process in handling "The Two Income Married Couple Subtraction". No baby-food instructions are provided on how to handle this deduction. The tax booklet for my state was equally as murky (maybe that's why TT could not provide more detail info on this deduction). I understood that my wife & I qualified for the deduction. But, there was no explanation as to why I always ended up with a zero answer. At this writing, I'm still baffled by this.
Also, I could not get a straight answer about Up Front Mortgage Insurance Premium deduction. I understood the fact that there are income limitations, but no one could tell me if the lump sum of the UFMIP could only be a ONE TIME deduction or can it repeated each year until the total amount of UFMIP is recovered??
What's great about it: Great DIY Application
What's not so great: Some confusing "pot-holes"

There must be something wrong with the copy I have since my comment in Cons is a true statement and not an exaggeration. The screen would go translucent and freeze (key strokes would have no effect). This would continue for a minute or longer at least once on nearly every page.
Since there is no way that I know of to contact Turbo Tax I put up with this rubbish, since I made the mistake of thinking it was my computer. But after I cleaned up the memory stick I was saving the file in and nothing changed then I knew it was the program.
Turbo Tax needs to start displaying Customer Service and provide a contact Phone No. where problems can be discussed. Your not the only tax program around.

What's great about it: easy and quick once it downloaded onto my PC
What's not so great: took about 1 hour to install. Much longer than last year!
