good run after a poor start

Once the problems at the start were worked out (I don't know any specifics of why ) except that the screen froze several times, it was a pleasure to work with the program.
What's great about it: Fast and easy
What's not so great: my PC closed down several times in the beginning

Last year was so bad that after purchasing TT I filed old school - on paper.

Make the Turbo Tax less pricey every year.

Very down to earth set up and simple and easy to tackle the monster problems of IRS taxes.
Could not have done the complicated taxes without the smooth step by step fill ins and data required.

A Step Backward

I found this year's Deluxe to be necessary, after last year's fiasco in eliminating types of forms to be filed by Basic. Also, as stated above, "restarting where I left off was a little bit of a chore"; and for some reason, "continuing on an existing form took forever to reopen it"???
I think forcing all form to be FIRST displayed in .pdf format is somewhat confusing; Intuit ought to bring-up clearer screens after being told what user wanted.

What's great about it: Have used Turbo Tax for years, simply to "pick it up again, when time permits".
What's not so great: This year's copy did NOT open to the exact point where I'd left off; in fact it didn't even get to the correct category.

Painless Tax Prep

I use Turbo Tax every year (for the past 15 or so years). It's very easy and guides you through the process. The cost of the software is reasonable with the exception of the state eFile fee, which is just robbery given the cost of the software itself and the fact that you can file free in most places. Otherwise, I'm very happy with Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: user friendly, guided tour, good explanation and help function, very simple and efficient
What's not so great: The state eFile fee should be eliminated

I've been using Turbo Tax since it first came out. Every year, it gets easier to use. The step by step guide, asking questions, providing examples makes a stressful exercise painless.
I really don't have a comparison, having not used anything else, other than the stubby pencil method. I just haven't been tempted to try any other tax preparation software!

What's great about it: Even the most complicated return is easy if you follow the guide
