Short and Sweet

Detailed instructions for people, like me, who don't know what they need to find and use to file and save. Plus, it didn't take as long as I was afraid it would to fill out and review before mailing!
What's great about it: Knew exactly what paperwork to find
What's not so great: first time and didn't know how long it would take

Great product, been using it for 30 plus years, very satisfied that my taxes are right and I've accounted for everything specially deductions, to which I am entitled. The ability to click on more in depth information is great.
What's great about it: Great explainations available, love the "lead me thru" process so I don't miss anything, specially deductions !!
What's not so great: None noted
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

State e-file difficulty

I e-filed my Federal return and received my refund in short order. Because I owed State tax, I chose to wait until after I received the refund. The software would not allow me to e-file only for State. Result - IRS required me to write a letter explaining why my SSN showed up on another federal return. Think this is a fixable problem for the future.
What's great about it: Federal e-file - easy
What's not so great: State e-file only - impossible

Easy to use

CD did not automatically load when inserted. Did nothing!
Had trouble installing TurboTax from CD. Had to shut off Norton firewall/virus protection and run as administrator and start it manually.

What's great about it: Was very good while using it. Liked being able to go to forms and get back to same step.
What's not so great: Taxable IRA distrbutions for Massachusetts needs some work

I have beeen using TurboTax five years in a row. Even switching from Microsoft to Mac without a hitch.
What's great about it: Straight forward and clear directions
What's not so great: Numerous definitions needed clarification from website

everything ran smoothly EXCEPT!! the process of printing the return. constantly requires the pdf and then it still won't print. VERY IRRITATING! Just had another irritating event, nickname, if I give you one take it , I don't care if some else has the same name!
What's great about it: relatively easy to use
What's not so great: intensely irritating at the final steps

Been using Turbo Tax for years. Very easy and accurate. I like the carry over feature.
What's great about it: Well planned
What's not so great: Should have more items for evaluation in "charities"
