TURBO TAX USE

THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO GO FOR ME. I USED TO DO THEM MYSELF BUT THIS IS MUCH BETTER AND EASY TO NAVIGATE

Confusing in parts this year. Kept skipping to state tax before federal review was complete. Never gave results of error check, just was caught in a loop of immediately going to state tax.

Stupid Things

Total income and taxable income went down in 2015 by $14001 dollars, I paid more estimated taxes than last year, but had more taxes due than 2014. There is no simple explanation in TT.
What's great about it: TT continues to be simple
What's not so great: Why does TT insist on information about business use of car, when the car is NOT used?

Program kept telling me that form 1099R was missing. I don't know where this came in. I had the 1099R and the time and it was filled out correctly. Kept saying to fill out another form, something like 4252 (No. may not be exact). Turns out that form was nothing but writing a statement to say I had the form and it was correct. The program kept sending me back several pages and then when I went forward I had to rearview several pages each time.
What's great about it: Good reminders as to what needs to be done
What's not so great: Too many pages to redo if a correct needs to be made back

Had used Turbo Tax for a number of years but lost all the previous filing when my computer crashed last year. Had to start all over this year inputting the info required to file this year

2015 Taxes

Using this program many times and it really helps minimize the anxiety, frustration, and time of doing this annual tedious task.
What's great about it: Took a lot less effort than i thought.
What's not so great: Wishing the cost for filing at least one state form was included in the price.

Much Easier this year

An Excellent Experience this year.
What's great about it: The HSA part made much more sense this year
What's not so great: It got a little cumbersome at the end. Print files were confusing.
