Works. Once you start using it, I don't know how you would change to another program.
What's great about it: Works the same way every year.
What's not so great: Shows the totals but not the detail from the previous year.

QB 2016 required to work with Windows 10
on March 10, 2016

After my last Win 10 update my QB 2010 would freeze on loading. Took some Googling to discover that I needed QB 2016 to get things to work with Windows 10. Mad scamble before tax deadline.
What's great about it: Good program
What's not so great: I wish there once a better web site saying which QB versions go belly up with which versions of Windows.

I have been using Turbo Tax for my businesses and personal tax for 13 years... It is great to use a software that you are used to.
What's great about it: It has not changed much so there is no need to learn it again

What's not so great: not cheap
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Quickbooks and TurboTax should play well together
on March 11, 2016

I am a physician and am fairly intelligent human being. After working closely with a good accountant for several years, I've done my own S-Corp 1120S for a couple of years now. I am frustrated by how inaccurate Quickbooks is when transferring data over to Turbotax. This is despite reassigning relevant Accounts and tax line items last year. I've had to go manual entry again. And Quickbooks' Balance Sheet and P+L report make certain items like Payroll, Retained Earnings, and others very difficult to parse out for tax form purposes. Intuit really dropped the ball here. Might skip the hassle and personal time expense and trade for a professional accountant next year.
What's great about it: Guidance through the steps
What's not so great: Poor sync between Quickbooks Pro and TurboTax; Technical jargon not always explained,
Pros: I bought or sold investments, I had a baby

Still no TurboTax Business for Mac's
on March 11, 2016

I for one will stop using the software which I've been using both on the biz and personal side if you don't make a Mac version by next year. This year again I had to use an old PC to file my biz taxes but when I transferred data from QB on my Mac to the QB 2009 on my PC I got the msg that the data couldn't be uploaded given the QB was an old version !!! So since I had already bought a new version for my Mac I didn't want to pay for another one on my PC and I ended up manually uploading the data !! If it is this hard I just will take my returns to a tax preparer or use another program.
What's great about it: .
What's not so great: impractical for mac users
