GOOD FOR BASICS AND FORMS ONLY

You would think that turbo tax for business would be better. In the beginning it was, well tested and everything just worked. Now it is best only for what forms to use. Import from Quick books is useless..you might as well be an accountant, because unless you have a standard company with standard ways of working..it simply fails. It treats data wrongly because it does not understand the "new method" and new company ways of doing business.
If I could find another product I would

Paying for two tax programs and then not knowing that I probably didn't need the Home and Business version since this program covers the LLC was wasteful.
It would be nice to have a full explanation or video on the next steps. I really had to dig to find anything on how to apply the 1065 / K1 to my individual taxes.
Novice knowledge and skills with Quickbooks made it doubly tough to get things right. I am still very hesitant that I have gotten every deduction and didn't overstate our income.
What's great about it: Step by step process was necessary for first timer.
What's not so great: Too bad I can't file my individual taxes with the same program. It should be all-in-one.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Mostly Got It Done...

This is the first time using TurboTax Business, Estates & Trusts. It has the familiar TurboTax layout and format I am familiar with from TurboTax Premier. All the forms I needed were at hand and the step-by-step walk through got me started. From there it faltered.
It did not provide informational resources to guide decision making about certain issues, e.g., K-1 beneficiaries, the flow of data to the state return (Calif) and the adjustments for the differences. I was not expecting TurboTax to be lacking in these areas as it was not mentioned on the Intuit product information.
What's great about it: Familiar TuboTax format and layout
What's not so great: Lacking informational resources to guide decision making

I have a small California C corporation. Doing the federal return was a breeze, but the state return was a misery (I would have thought the information was about the same). There were many questions that had to be answered in the state return that weren't in the federal, and TT gave no clue what was wanted. I ended spending hours online researching what things that ended up not pertinent to me. The program was buggy; the State review would drop me into a forms that it shouldn't have, ask me to fill in information that it should have imported from previous years (although other information seemed to import ok), asked questions that were nonsensical or lacking explanation that I ended up having to research extensively online.
It felt like they simply did not put any effort into making the California State returns simple or bug free
What's great about it: cheaper than a CPA
What's not so great: State process buggy, many unresolved questions

Overall a nice tool and saves some money over an accountant. Less money each year but still enough to prepare myself.
One suggestion. More example to how the accounting works would be helpful.Some common issues when the books do not balance would be great.
For example this one happens to me every year the books do not balance because I took deductions that were not paid from my business account but a personal account. Essentially I made a small loan to the business as an individual. it is obvious but some hint or common mistakes or example would go a long way to making the process quicker for non accountants.

Good product but...

I dont understand why on the 2015 version there is no tax due or refund monitor as it was on every other year. That helps a lot on seeing how different deductions or credits affect your bottom line ... now you have to either print it or find out after filing. Not a good thing..
What's great about it: User friendly
What's not so great: on the help pop up menu there is actually no help at all...they just send you to IRS publications or forms
