Nice software Caught one error

Accidentally cut & pasted a negative number in my Cost of Goods and it didn't alert the error. Luckily I saw it before finalizing as it inflated my profits calculation by effectively considering it as income...
What's great about it: Fast, easy, walks you through & allows direct form entry.
What's not so great: Allowed a negative value for cost of goods.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Used for 10 years. Makes life very easy, particularly if you use Quickbooks. And you save a fortune. Do buy the Audit Defense in case an error is made (including TurboTax'). Just take your time, and feel relaxed to go backwards if an error or misunderstanding takes place.
What's great about it: Very thorough
What's not so great: Must be careful and thoughtful to complete forms

Mediocre at best

I have used Turbo Tax for years. I also use QuickBooks. It seems like every year it is a struggle to import my books properly from QuickBooks. This year it was giving me $70k more on my balance sheet that didn't exist. It only showed up in the totals though. No idea where it came from. I could add up the numbers on the screen and they would be correct but the total for the liabilities and equity would be totally wrong. I finally gave up (after reloading the books several times) and just changed the numbers on the form.
Similar problems with my salary - it added $10 or so the salary number. No idea where this came from as it was correct in the books. Since they have a near monopoly on both accounting and tax software, there is not much I can do except hire an accountant to do this.
What's great about it: Easy to install, Fast software, covers most items
What's not so great: Does not import books well, inserted forms that were not applicable

Turbotax business

I was being held up in this loop. I did not break out of it until I looked in the form view, and noticed a red "!" next to a certain document. They should prompt you to look in forms mode if you get stuck in a loop on the program. Also, 24/7 human phone support would be nice.
What's great about it: quick, easy informative
What's not so great: was being held up at the check out screen way too long

Turbo Tax Business

I've used Turbo Tax for my personal tax returns since 1997. I loved it then and will most likely continue using it. I have used Business Turbo Tax just this year and last. I was very impressed with it last year so figured I might as well try again this year. I was sadden to see that it seemed harder to use and had less help files. The running totals at the top of the page showing your amount refund / Due were missing. All in all it is still a good product however this year I wasn't that impressed. Next year might be my last year to try the Business version if again it loses more features.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax has been a great product and every year seems to be improved.
What's not so great: They removed the running summary at the top of the page showing the federal and state taxes due.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
