Good program

Great program. Too bad I have to purchase it every year including the State.
What's great about it: Nice to be able to edit from the import from Quickbooks since my accounts are not perfect
What's not so great: CAnt always understand some of the questions. Need basic laymans terms since I am not an accountant.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Compared to H & R

Last year I bought H & R program to try to do my LLC returns and found it too complicated. Filing LLC returns are complicated but Turbo Tax had enough information and clarification and easy to follow steps that I was able to complete the returns by myself.
There are still some issues that should be addressed. There are sections I did not understand or did not add up despite reviewing several times my entries but I managed to make it through.
Perhaps there should be an addition to the program concerning what is more difficult to understand or does not add up. For instance while doing the taxes, if someone comes across an entry that is not easily understood or an entry where the calculations don't seem to work out or are hard to figure out, there should be a "report this" button that would be sent to turbo tax for next year's programing.

Estate Filing

This is the first (and hopefully the last) time filing taxes for an estate. Hints were not helpful and some understanding of the outcome was required in order to get it right. Took multiple attempts to get it done right.
What's great about it: knew what to forms were required for filing
What's not so great: work flow expected me to know how to treat certain situations

Very easy to use

I found this software to be very helpful. I liked the fact that TurboTax auto-saved, so I could come back to the documents later and pick up where I left off. It also felt easy to go back and revisit sections to review or revise. Thumbs up, TurboTax!
What's great about it: wizard was very helpful, especially the individual explanations on each line item

Schedule K Instructions - clarification

For TurboTax Business Edition:
Please update the enter Schedule K instructions to be clear if entering details from your own Schedule K's received the prior year vs. if Turbo Tax was requesting if we received Schedule K-1's from another entity entirely.
SA was not clear because it didn't read Special Allocation (SA) code. That would make error instruction much simpler. I had to contact a specialist and it took her a little while to figure out the error message as well.
Also, my accountant couldn't understand why TT was making me do balance sheets even though it said it was okay to skip it.
What's great about it: Entered, but had doubts due to lack of clarity
What's not so great: Errors were hard to understand

A Devoted Fan

All in all, very satisfied. As noted in my "con" comments, I was a bit disappointed with the Montana Dept. of Revenue's inability/refusal to allow me to file the turst's tax return electronically.
What's great about it: I have used Turbo Tax for many years. In addition to our personal return and my business, I also used TT for a trust.
What's not so great: The state of Montana was a disappointment in that I could not use TT to file electronically.
