1065 Other Rental Income (Line 3 1065 P4-5)
on March 27, 2016
Posted by: AlanBWill
TurboTax 1065 for Business (LLC-partnership) would be really great if you could treat 'Other Rental Income' [non-real estate rental activity] would have the same capabilities form-wise as real estate rental and expense activity. While depreciation can be handled through the application, one has to zero out the amount on the first page and then make sure it is present in the supporting details for the expenses associated with 'Other Rental Income'
What's great about it: Depreciation schedule production saves work
What's not so great: No schedule available for entry of both income and itemized deductions for Other Rental Income

What's great about it: Easy to work with
What's not so great: K-1 indicated errors that were in fact correct entries. Could not get the software to acknowledge the correct entry
Pros: I bought or sold investments

TT Business
on March 27, 2016

Why doesn't TT Business allow import of 1099s into Estate and Trust returns filed using Form 1041??? It is ridiculous that it doesn't!!!!! I'm ready to look for another tax provider. I hated TT this and it wasted hours and hours of my time! Get on it TT or you won't have me back as a customer next year. I am very unhappy and dissatisfied!!
To be honest I feel like calling my CC company and disputing the charge! That is how dissatisfied and annoyed I am with TT.
What's great about it: Can't think of a single one!
What's not so great: Why doesn't TT Business allow import of 1099s for Form 1041???
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I had to start over and manually enter the QuickBooks data because it came in wrong and incomplete. This is the first year that has happened. I was very disappointed.
What's great about it: Good transfer from prior filing
What's not so great: Bad transfer of Quickbooks data
