Easy, Accurate, Help where needed
on April 17, 2016

Overall, TurboTax for Business seems easier each year for my use. It is always updated and accurate. Resources for the process are increasing with each version. I am very confident with the final product when I file my taxes.
What's great about it: Simple, straightforward interview process with complete set of forms needed for my business
What's not so great: It needs a specific printing step for State Returns instead of just stating it will be necessary.

DESPERATELY NEED TURBOTAX BUSINESS FOR MAC
on April 17, 2016

I have used and loved TurboTax Business since 2011, and I have asked for a Mac Version every year. Now, I will not be able to use TurboTax in 2016 unless you make a Mac Version.
What's great about it: Imports Previous Year's Data
What's not so great: Last year for XP will drive us to another software unless you create Business for Mac!

IRC Section 642 (c) (1) is still very hard to find and it cut off the names and addresses.

Don't think of doing your taxes manually and don't think of any other product. I've been using Intuit since 1992 and they simply rock. It makes tax filing soooooo easy!
What's great about it: All
What's not so great: None

Need a Mac version

I hate that I can only do my business & trust returns on a PC. When are you going to make TurboTax business available for use on a Mac? I can't think of any other program that has this limation these days. It's a real drag to have to pull out my ancient PC once a year just to do taxes.
What's great about it: Straightforward
What's not so great: PC limitation is awful!

In the nick of time

TurboTax is a tax-preparation education! I learn so much every year and prefer to keep doing it myself, because I'm a control freak like that.
TurboTax is extremely thorough--forcing you to go through a bunch of stuff you won't need, but that's what's great about it too.
The in app answers are really great, especially if you do your taxes a month or more in advance, so you have time to get your questions answered as they come up. Most are already answered and there for you to search, but when they aren't it generally only takes a couple days for a response from the community.
What's great about it: In app help and answers!
What's not so great: Have to go through all the stuff you don't need.

1041T Form
on April 18, 2016
Posted by: Trustee1041
1041T Improve the questions for transferring estimated taxes to Beneficiaries. Note there is a deadline for filing 1041T which is 65 days after close of the year. Need logic and prevention or notice to taxpayer that the deadline has passed and can't be applied.
on Transactions dealing with master limited partnerships, you need to direct preparers to stay way from the adjustments to basis. the Software locked up on me and forced tech support to be challenged. Result had to delete return and start over again avoiding the adjustments. I made a manual adjustment to the basis and entered this into the return. Either way please build a method to handle or instruct preparer to manually adjust the basis and avoid the adjustment field in the tax form.
What's great about it: Much better this year
What's not so great: 1041T form. and Schedule D MLP's
