TT Business 1041 Fiduciary Return

2015 saw some improvements, though having to buy one software version to file a fiduciary return and another to file an individual return is aggravating. Financial data still must be entered rather than imported (a feature on the lower priced TT Premiere). The financial data input process was somewhat improved, yet still had flaws (such as only being able to edit the first 50 entries through the interview). Not much information on how to use the process in the interview even though some actions are not intuitively obvious and the process is fairly new. A few simple help or overview sentences would have saved a lot of time and frustration. All were answered in the community or other online access, so why can't that information be an integral part of the software.
What's great about it: Complete information collected in interview
What's not so great: Stock Sales must be entered manually

Comprehensive Product

I downloaded Turbo-Tax for business paid only to find I needed Turbo-Tax for Partnerships. Why can't they combine both into one product?
The turbo-tax for partnerships doesn't let you do your personal taxes.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Had to buy two versions
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Turbotax makes it pretty easy

Ours is a straightforward business, and TurboTax does the job quickly and easily without too much fuss, which otherwise there would be a lot of. Since it does not run on a Mac, as lots of small businesses do, you must add the cost of Parallels and Windows to the cost of TurboTax. This does make it pricey. It also seems it should be pretty simple to integrate it with QuickBooks online, but that is yet to be.
What's great about it: Making something inherently complex, fairly simple
What's not so great: Doesn't run on Mac; can't input info from Quickbooks online

4 Years With TurboTax for Business!

This is the 4th year I've used TurboTax for Business to prepare the tax return for a small trust for which I am the trustee. Each year the user interface gets easier. TurboTax handles generating K-1s for beneficiaries. From year to year all general information is carried forward so does not have to be reentered. I can automatically download earnings data from the financial institution where the trust's assets are managed.
What's great about it: Easy, auto download from financial institution

While I appreciate having at least a basic 1041 Trust tax prep software option (thank you), TT Business is VERY expensive for such an old and relatively user unfriendly program.
PLEASE update and port to Mac OS!!! And allow for import of tax data.
Basically, TT Business really needs to be updated to the same type of functionality and user friendly basic features, including Mac OS support, of all other TT products.
It is shocking the most expensive TT product is not even close to the basic functionality and user support of the most basic TT tax prep software. WAY overdue for a MAJOR update!

Made an impossible task achievable!

Taxes are never fun, but for the most part, the explanation of the various categories while filling in the fields in turbo tax made it reasonably easy to fill out things as truthfully as possible.
What's great about it: Got it all filed in about 15 hours of work
What's not so great: The k1 was still confusing

Filing Made Simple

Being the second year I filed a return it was much quicker than the first year as the format was already ready to go. Made the changes where required and submitted. It is easier than doing my personal tax return. Unfortunately I do not have a lot of transactions to record.
What's great about it: Grabbed everything from last year, walked through changes, submitted return.
