Defenitley Worth It

I have used Turbo tax since 2010 and have always trusted it's content to be accurate. It always has the simple answer to what forms are required and why so I don't have to continually call my Tax Attorney and ask the dumb questions.
My favorite part is entering the information myself so I can learn the tax forms and required docs for myself from the comfort of my home.

What's great about it: Easy to follow and can be done by just about anyone doing business from there home
What's not so great: No gaurantees you've filed everything acuratley from a person or entity
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Confidence that my returns are done right!

I have been using TurboTax for last several years, and have no problems anytime. I feel that my taxes are done right! With Turbotax I can be confident that nothing is left out and reliability that all areas are covered! Thank you!

What's not so great: Online help if struck with any issue and Delay in State forms

Improve import from Quickbooks for tax categories

The importing of information for QuickBooks is a very nice feature, but it lacks one-to-one correspondence with the appropriate tax lines.
For instance, we have separate line items for 50%, and 100% Meals and entertainment, and another for travel.. TurboTax asks 3 times, once for each line item, if this is a 100% deduction. In order to determine, you have to compare the original amounts to determine the QB line item. Another issue is with Capital Gains qualified vs non-qualified dividends, 15% tax rate, etc.
I wish this were improved, so the imported tax line would flow to the appropriate IRS tax lines.

I'm surprised TurboTax has calculation bugs. I'd like to be able to rely on it.

low points -

Works well for my restaurant business taxes

This is the second year I've used Turbo Tax for my business. And So far so good. Since I'm the one that puts all the paper work together and usually just hand the summaries to a tax person, it was getting a little frustrating for them to charge hundreds and hundreds of dollars for them to fill in the blanks on software, when I could do that myself. So I gave this a try last year and it's worth the little extra work to do it myself. I do take out the tax audit protection, though. It gives me piece of mind, in case I missed something or accidentally put something in the wrong box.
What's great about it: Easy to understand, just fill in the blanks
What's not so great: Finding answers to my questions wasn't always the easiest.
