I bought this about 2 months ago just to use Netflix. I tried streaming through my blue ray player and it kept buffering when using Netflix. I bought the Roku and set it up verily easily and never had any buffering issues. Makes watching tv enjoyable.
I bought this system a couple of months ago and it was easy to setup. I also have a system from a couple of years ago. I had to remove it and set it up in another room and that was easy to do. However, I have another system by another company and it's not easy set it up in another area of my house. In fact, I can't use it anymore.
I have a Roku 2, and (2) Roku 3's in my home and I love them both. I bought a Roku Stick recently, but I'm not so happy. The remote will stop working even with fresh batteries. We open up the battery compartment and move them around to get it working again. This happens often, and this is the second unit I bought (I thought the first one was faulty). Seems to be a problem with the design. Not sure if anyone else has had this problem. This happen to us with re-chargeable and regular batteries. Otherwise, Roku is wonderful and we will continue to buy their products.
I purchased two roku sticks for my children's bedroom. One lasted for a month needing reset every time you turned on the tv the other freezes all the time.
I BOUGHT THE FIRST STICK BASED ON FEATURES ESPECIALLY THE YOU TUBE ACCESS. THE REMOTE BECAME UNRESPONSIVE AFTER THE SECOND ATTEMPT TO USE IT. I RETURNED TO THE STORE AN REPLACED IT WITH A SECOND ROKU STICK. THE SAME PROBLEM, I HAD TO KEEP PULLING THE BATTERIES AND RESETTING THE REMOTE AND PRESSING THE PURPLE BUTTON REBOOTING THE STICK. YOU HAVE GREAT CONCEPT BUT VERY LAME HARDWARE, NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME. WE THEN BOUGHT AN AMAZON FIRE TV AND IT WORKS WORKS PERFECTLY.
I love the features my Roku has. However, I'm having difficulty with Netflix now after about a month. It takes forever to load. I had to turn the tv off after an hour of waiting for it to come on. In fact it has been 15 minutes now since I turned it on again. Not sure of what to do.
