I love all of the channels available via Roku and all of the options. But I could be a whole lot happier with the WiFi capabilities. The WiFi Router specifically used for streaming media is hung on the wall behind the entertainment center, less than a foot from the Roku and it still has problems picking up the signal whereas the ChromeCast has no problems. Plus the remote often stops operating or "freezes" so I have to open the battery compartment and re-seat a battery in order to get it to function again.
I have only used this for a couple weeks and find it has great potential but not without faults. It has a moderate time lag while loading and at times will stop to reload in the middle of a program. its functions are slow as well and at one time it went blank completely and would not respond. I removed it and found it very hot so i tried an alternate device to prove if (or not) was the problem and it was, So, as interesting as this device is it still needs improvement.
I have had this a month or so and so far so good. Only issue I have had is the remote up arrow stopped working and I had to resync the remote and it was find.
When I made my purchase I was under the impression it just needed to plug into the HDMI port and was ready to use, then after opening I realized you also have to have a power cord, minor problem. The bigger issue is that the remote signal doesn't work real well. Other than the two issues mentioned, It works pretty well. If I had to do it again I would have just spent the extra money and purchased the ROKU3.
