I have used it about 6 times and every time I have to change batteries. Now every time i am done watching tv I have to take the batteries out of the remote. Bad purchase!!!
It has to be programmed over and over again . Almost every week I have to enter my information again. The control is very sensitive. I have bought 3 of them already in a year time.
I got a Roku streaming stick a month ago for my mother's house. The Roku started out on one TV and after initial set up was pleasantly streaming. A week ago, we needed to move it to a TV in another room but couldn't get it to work. I tried pushing buttons, turning everything on and off, changed out batteries... nothing. We were putting the unit back in it's original packaging to return and saw a label on a bag saying to sync the Roku with the remote. We didn't think that would be needed again, but it was. After going through the re-sync steps, the Roku is streaming again. I'm so glad! but I'm also wondering if that's something that has to be done each time the stick moves to a different TV. The synchronization process is a little cumbersome and almost lost me. I'm also glad I kept the paperwork/instructions. It's not an intuitive process and has several steps.
I got this about 6 weeks ago. After around 4 weeks everything started "freezing up". Thought it was Netflix. Unplugged and restarted everything. Actually pressed the reset button that the directions said we would rarely need if at all. Did everything and finally called a friend that is more technology smart and to our embarrassment, it was the batteries!! Came home tonight to the same issue! These are new Energizer AAA batteries that have only been in use two weeks and we don't even use the Roku daily. What is eating up the batteries on this?
I bought the first one and had to keep resetting it. Changed the batteries in the remote and that worked for a couple of days then had to start resetting again. Exchanged for another stick. Second one froze and nothing would unfreeze so bought a Roku 1. Have had no problems with it. So far the only thing I don't like about it is it isn't multidirectional with its remote. The remote has to be aimed at it to work. Other than that, I love the Roku.
I was weary about buying this, but after the first week I decided it was the best purchase i've made, it has replaced cable for me and saves me lots of money.
