I bought the Roku Streaming stick about 6 months ago because I could not stream HBO Go on my Blu Ray. I read the reviews and other than it saying the remote stops working (which is 100% true), it seemed like a good product that would fit my needs. I was incredibly excited about all of the different options and features it had, seemed like it would be the perfect match. Boy was I wrong! Every time I use it, it freezes. In the middle of shows it constantly decides to just stop working, or spends several minutes loading even though I have been watching for a while. I know it is not a problem with my network connectivity, because when I become so frustrated trying to finish my show on my Roku I just switch to my Blu Ray which streams all the same things Netflix, Vudo, Hulu, Amazon, etc. without a problem. Customer service doesn't seem to know what they are doing, and will ask you the same questions over and over again. I was so excited that this little stick could do so much and couldn't wait to use it, sadly it has led to nothing but frustration and disappointment.
Deceptively simple installation (insert it into the port). Flawless viewing once you set it up. Better than the Roku Box. If my other TV could accommodate the stick, I would replace that Roku Box with a new Roku Stick.
I got my Roku stick about a month ago and love it! I'm a student so I have a lot of assignments on my computer and love that I can have Netflix playing in the background while I complete assignments. There are so many channels to pick from that I feel like I'm never going to miss a show again (I can't afford cable) and there's other channels for exercise too! the only problem I've had is that my remote only works half the time which is pretty annoying, luckily there is an app for your phone that turns your phone into a remote. Also, check where your HDMI plugin is on your TV before buying the stick because my TV has a weird shape to it and my stick barely fits and it might be better to get a Roku box with an HDMI chord for some TVs
I have used this for about two months, was not pleased , returned first unit, remote would stop working. talked to the activation company, got little help,(could not understand persons) called Roku tech. support, great response. all in all still have to remove batteries once in a while to use remote. I was told I should have gotten the box instead of the stick..
