I really admire the roku streaming stick i started with numbet 1 it really lagged but the stick didn't only problem i have with the stick its some times out seems to stick it will scroll endlessly the look and feel is great overall it's a very great product is the 3 has changed in the interface category I'm sure it's the best yet
For the price, things load just as fast as you can expect. Netflix kind of runs slow browsing through the library but playback is, of course, perfect. I think that might be a Netflix problem, not necessarily Roku. I can buy two of these for the same price as one month of my cable bill. You choose what you watch, this is the next generation of TV. I'm always saying how happy I am with it, and the savings it brings.
I bought the Roku because it is simply the best, and my actual use only backs up the research I did before I bought it.
Wish it was easier to set up streaming media from over the network. Maybe more codec support or a program for Windows/Linux to convert on-the-fly.
I cancelled my cable to try to save some money. Bought a Roku streaming stick and found out quickly that you have to pay for almost all programming that is offered though Roku's apps. No real saving there. Not particularly user friendly either. I returned it to the store within 24 hours.
I enjoy this product, I really do. It's a great alternative to the more expensive Apple TV, (which I might add I use to have) but the remote lag time is something that really bothers me. It's awesome for streaming Netflix though and a wonderful inexpensive alternative. I would give it 5 stars but the remote lag time really bothers me.. I will end up watching the wrong show sometimes because the remote won't pick up the signal so I double click and end up on the wrong show.. It's a tiny annoyance in the scheme of things for the value it has. The remote you can install on your phone through the App Store is also really handy when I can't find my actual remote.
