We have used the Roku Stick for almost a whole year now, and its provided us everything we expected it to. All of the apps perform reasonably well (NFL Sunday Ticket is buggy, will say streams are unavailable initially and then will load fine on the second try) to very well (PLEX is rock solid). The Roku OS is a bit sluggish and slow at times, not sure if its the remote or the device itself. Our Roku 3 does not suffer from the same issues. At one point, we did do a factory reset which did seem to resolve the issue for the time being.
THE FIRST ONE OVERHEATED AND I EXCHANGED IT WITH THE COMPANY IN CALIFORNIA AND THE 2ND ONE ALSO OVERHEATED. ALSO, THE REPLACEMENT DID NOT LOOK A NEW REPLACEMENT.
I originally bought the Roku 1, so upgrading to the streaming stick was a big change. I really like that episodes will auto play, so if my cat has nested onto my lap, I won't have to get up to grab the remote. I also like that it can plug into a USB output, rather than having multiple cords. This makes it easier for me to switch to video games, without having to unplug everything. The only thing I am not crazy about is the design of my Netflix on this Roku. It is hard to tell what I am clicking on, because of the way it loads, and I always accidentally click on an episode that I do not want to watch, because the remote is so sensitive. I still really like this version of Roku and I would highly recommend it.
