Bought my Roku stick a little over a month ago. Overall, we are happy we got it.
There are a few quirky things that may take a few phone calls to customer service to get a handle on. One is the remote has a button under the battery cover to reset it. You will probably need to use it regularly, like we do.
We love being able to watch programming on our selected channels when it's convenient. Also channels that might not be available in our regular viewing line up. We would definitely recommend it.
Think so far I like alot more than Chromecast. However, 1 reason i wanted was 2 give devices a break (have 3 tablets, 1 iPad). Wanted a regular remote in my hand but w 2 Roku sticks in the family not 1 remote that works consistently. Its a toss up if gonna work from min. 2 min. It eats batteries (neither stick's orig. Batteries wrkd). Use rechargeables but even then leave back off becuz have to take out & put back in to wk half the time. Ruins (bit harsh)the start of a new relationship w a company
We got the Stick for the family Christmas last year with our new TV. What a great purchase! Soo many channels, something for everyone. I can binge watch my favorite TV shows. I found a Looney Tunes channel!!! Like really! Now I want the Roku 3 for my living room. No more ridiculous cable bills! And I love purple ;)
I've used the Roku Streaming Stick for about a month or so and all i've used it for thus far is Netflix. It has a really nice interface and is easy to find content. However, the remote is absolutely impossible to use. It never seems to work and so I've ditched it and downloaded the remote app on my smart phone and it works awesome. Would have given it 5 stars but this is a huge deal breaker.
