I adore my new streaming stick. I put the new one in my living room where I have a Hisense ROKU ready TV. The picture quality is amazing when viewing through ROKU. I already had an older version on the TV. I now have moved my older ROKU down to an older TV I have in my art studio. I now need one for the bedroom and maybe even the kitchen. I am a definite Rokuer!
I purchased the ROKU to save on having to rent a cable box from Time Warner. It was extremely easy to set up, BUT the remote is worthless. When I first set it up it worked great and I was very happy with my purchase. Later that evening the remote stopped responding. I figured it was the batteries so I changed them and it stopped working while I was trying to channel surf. I didn't want to pack it all up and return it so I just went online to search for some fixes. After several attempts it finally started working more consistently. Today, a few months later...it still has it moods...I have to press the buttons several times to kind of "wake it up". Not sure what to do, because I really like it.
Well, as i love Roku because i don't have cable and i get to watch lots of movies it has stop working after 28 days. I have change the batteries on the remote more than 3 times still not working. I'm going to bring it back were i got it and see if they can give me a one that will work.
I purchased my Roku Stick a few weeks ago. So far, great. I was able to cancel my Cable and now I just stream. I added HULU and MLB Network. I get local networks (NBC, CBS, FOX, ETC) via the local cable company for free through my condo H O Association. Seems this is everything I need or want.
I love the choices I get on free programing on Roku. I also like the fact that it is portable. I can travel with it or move it from room to room.
Only thing I don't like is I don't have my Hulu account information. I can't install it on my smart TV. It is billed via my ROKU stick. I'll find the information and everything will be perfect. Thanks ROKU for making a reasonable substitute for my outrageous cable bill and lots of useless content on cable TV.
