I bought it so can watch live sling tv. But been having a few issues with sling app. It kicks me off from time to time. I don't know if it's because of roku or sling. Other then that amazing with all the other streaming apps. I do hope either sling or roku works out that bug. I was a Little disappointed when the main reason I got it was for sling tv. And had missed sum parts of my favorite live TV shows.
We've had the Roku a couple months now and it's working out well. It was very easy to set-up, and it's logical organized user interface is very easy to manage. We really love having good access to the all the great channels & programming. Only one complaint - the remote, which is very useful, 'lost' connection once and had to be re-synced.
We bought the roku stick just to see if it is an option to get rid of cable. So far I think it is a viable option once you get used to a complete "on-demand" service. There are definitely pros and cons to using the service. The only technical issue we've had with the stick is the remote will intermittently quit working. We have to reset the remote by popping out one of the batteries and it goes back to working. Not sure if the remote is freezing or the stick.
I bought my first Roku a year and a half ago. It worked great! I even encouraged friends and family to get one. Sadly my house was broken into and the thieves took the Roku remote (but left the Roku). Since the Roku won't work go through the set up process without an official remote I went out and bought a new Roku. The remote lasted about 2 days and stopped working. I took it back and exchanged it for another, that lasted 2 days as well. I'm not sure what the problem is but based on the experiences I'm having with the remote I'd be hesitant to recommend the product to anyone.
I've had the Roku for a few months now, and I love it! So many free channels available, and more always on the way with just a point and click. I've cut the cable cord, and with the help of the Roku (x2), I'll never go back.
