Streaming stick not as good as a box

I bought this a month ago and discovered that it does not work as good as a Roku box. It is plugged directly into the HDMI input on the back of my TV (as well as a separate power source); with that location it is difficult for it to receive the remote control signal. I'll have to basically stick my hand around the back of the TV for it to receive the signal. If your HDMI input is on the side of the TV and you can visually see it from where you are sitting and the remote has a direct line of sight, it may work fine. I have a subscription/app where I can stream live local channels, realtime. The stick seems to not be able to handle streaming live TV and after 20 minutes or so will freeze up and reboot. A Roku box sitting in the same room on the same wifi signal continues to stream this same live local channel without interruption. This is a constant result of my comparison between the 2 devices. Appears to stream the on demand apps OK.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Roku Streaming Stick opened up a whole new TV watching experience. It was easy to set up and program. Adding new networks is a breeze. It essentially turned my older HDTV into a Smart TV...and all without the high price tag. I'm a Roku fan.

Love my Roku!

As my husband took over possession of our den TV (both streaming and DVR) I needed a way to stream from my bedroom TV to watch what I wanted to see (which is very different than my husband's viewing). I purchased the Roku about a month ago and I love it. It was easy for this senior to install and use the remote.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Always resetting

We bought a TV that came with a streaming stick, and it sucks. You log in and enter all your passwords to your accounts, which is fine. However, it's always logging us out and we have to reenter all of our info all the time. For the Disney Junior channel, we're always "not authorized" and need to reenter codes from our phones or computers in order to turn the channel on. Then once we're in, it's constantly "loading". This product is terrible. I would never recommend it to anyone.

The Roku Stick's wireless signal causes my cable internet routers signal to disappear every few days. I have to rebook both the Roku Stick and my modem....just very frustrating.

works great; took stick on vacation to Nassau ;Bahamas ,watched Pittsburgh pa.local sports antenna tv and cable through Wi-Fi with the help of slingbox and
simple tv boxes streaming quality was better than Nassau broadcasting
