It feels a little laggy in response to remote control selections but usable. The software is fine to use otherwise. Our house has two roku sticks we got at the same time, and one erases all settings if unplugged. And sometimes it freezes while in screen saver mode (thus forcing me to unplug and the re-do set-up all over, which is a bummer having several streaming services like Netflix and Amazon). I like the idea of traveling with small device, but want to see newer version before recommending to anyone per reliability issues.
It took me a couple months to take time to hook the Roku. I should kick my butt myself. This thing woke up my sleeping tv. I get excited at tv time. I love it.
We decided to "cut the cable" because our cable companies continue to hike there prices and I don't even watch 3/4 of the channels. Roku along with a 20 antenna gives me everything I need. I have all the apps and local channels I can need, roku gives me HBO vudu Netflix and the prize winner is sling. We will never go back to cable again. I can even take the roku out and into the back yard for Baseball on the patio.
I love the roku and its easy access to programming. However, lately I have to restart the system whenever I want to use it and it frequently freezes which is quite frustrating.
