Horrible

It's nearly unusable at times. I've gotten two now in hopes that it was just a fluke. Nope. Hulu does not work after you've watched whatever you initially chose. Netflix freezes and often will not load in the first place. Not a single music app works for more than a few songs before freezing. Both the first device and the second have prompted me to completely reconnect all apps to my accounts which you have to do on the Internet.
In conclusion it seems like a very poorly made device and it is a very frustrating experience and I will not ever recommend one to someone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this product a month ago for a flatscreen on the wall. I didn't want to deal with extra cords, so I have the TV powering the device. It does pretty much everything I need it to do, it is just very underpowered and sluggish. I'm a little concerned that as OS updates come out from Roku the device will become even more sluggish in the same way that older phones generally have trouble with ever more powerful operating systems. Anyway, it works fine, but I'm a little surprised at the poor responsiveness. I also have the Roku 3 and 4 and both are very responsive.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We bought two of the sticks. We got rid of our Direct tv and have been so happy that we did.

Like title says.Great when it works.It lags really bad and the remote is junk need tobhit buttons 2 or 3 times before it works.Very frustrating

I love it, it gives you a lot wider choice of programming which means you have a greater choice of things to watch. Yes some of the choices you have does cost you a subscription fee, but it is unlike with any of the cable companies where you do not have a choice. If you want to pay a subscription fee you can but every week there are a lot of other channels for nothing offered. So all of the choices and what you want to watch are up to you. The Roku stick or any of the other Roku products gives you a chance to get into the streaming field and that is something that is being offered to you and the future of cable television. There use to be an old commercial out there on television that was used for a product that was being used for it's commercials, "Try it, you'll like it" and that is what I will say to all the people that read this message, both the new people and the people that are already a member of the streaming field. It's your choice and the right choice is to take it if you can.

I have had this for a while. It works great. Have not had any problems with it. I took off 1 star because it takes about 30 seconds to a minute to turn on. The delay really irritates me.
